The first week of November started off with a bang, with 30 companies from 7 different sectors raising over $1.83b via placements across the market.
The materials sector stood out from the rest of the market in terms of sheer frequency, with 15 separate placements completed totalling $160m raised. This included a substantial $60m placement by Blackstone Minerals Limited (ASX:BSX) with funds to be applied primarily towards the construction and commissioning of Pilot Plant Phase 2 in Vietnam.
The financial sector announced itself with a massive placement from Macquarie Group Limited (ASX:MQG), who raised $1.5b with funds to be used towards the firm's goal of flexibly investing in attractive opportunities, whilst maintaining an appropriate capital surplus.

Looking back on the past 90 days to see how companies have performed post placement takes us to the fourth week of June, which saw 14 placements take place. Arafura Resource Limited (ASX:ARU) emerged as the performance leader of the cohort, commanding an increase of 83% from its issue price.
Best Performers:
Arafura Resource Limited (ASX:ARU) peaked at a whopping 104% increase 70 days post raise, before pulling back slightly to an 83% increase 90 days post raise.
Renergen Limited (ASX:RLT) saw a 36% increase 90 days post raise.
Metro Mining Limited (ASX:MMI) peaked twice at 4 and 51 days post raise with a 42% increase before settling down to a 25% increase 90 days post raise.
Worst Performers:
Coda Minerals Limited (ASX:COD) saw a 28% decrease from issue price 90 days post raise.
Seafarms Group Limited (ASX:SFG) saw a 25% decrease from issue price 90 days post raise.
Variscan Mines Limited (ASX:VAR) saw a 26% decrease from issue price 90 days post raise.
